We connect young women and girls with women of colour across a range of industries to support:

• Career exploration and decision-making

• Professional development and confidence

• Guidance on university subjects and career pathways

• Exposure to industries where women particularly Black and minority ethnic women remain underrepresented, including STEM

Access to University & Widening Participation

​

Many universities offer widening participation schemes for students from underrepresented or lower-income backgrounds navigating these opportunities can often feel overwhelming or inaccessible.

At Hablo Futures we have over 20 years of experience across higher education, including work within Russell Group universities,

Supporting women and young people to:

• ​Navigate widening participation programmes

• Strengthen UCAS applications and personal statements

• Understand university and course options

• Prepare for interviews and next steps

We also work with schools and organisations to:

• Deliver information sessions

• Provide direct student guidance

• Increase awareness of available opportunities

 

Parent Advocacy & Education Navigation

We support mothers and families who may lack confidence navigating the education system due to language barriers, cultural differences, or limited access to information. 

including:

• Support preparing for and attending school or SEND meetings

• Help understanding reports, processes, and decisions

• Advocacy to ensure parents feel heard and understood

• Guidance on rights, options, and next steps

It is well documented that when parents are unsupported, children are more likely to experience:

• Unmet educational needs

• Behavioural challenges

• Disengagement from education

 

Our work strengthens communication between families and educational services, leading to better outcomes for children and young people. We also work directly with schools and local authorities to introduce and deliver this support where it is most needed.
